When people hear about a fiery manger (like Wally Backman or Ozzie Guillen) getting ejected, bumping an umpire or throwing bats on the field, they sometimes use words like "childish" or "disgraceful." It shows a general lack of knowledge of the game and the etiquette of baseball (read this book if you're one of these people), but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

However, there are times when the words "childish" and "disgraceful" should be used to describe events on the diamond because they go far beyond motivating players and showing up an umpire. This is one of those times:
