Another random update. I'm not sure if this means I'm working more or avoiding work. All I can say for sure is that I stopped at a new gas station on the way home from the gym*** and I found a new energy drink there. I think it was called Brainiac. It's in the garbage not two feet from where I'm sitting at this very moment and yet I won't lean over and check the name of this wonderdrink. Not because I'm tired, but because I'm so strung out on the stuff I can't feel my legs.

- "The Next Mets Manager" - An insightful post from Mets Today about the prospects of Wally Backman taking over as Mets manager in the future. I say insightful because the article does a good job of explaining why Backman was fired without resorting to the rumor and innuendo that has been all over the media since 2004. Remember, I had to research all this stuff to make this show. I'm remaining objective, but it's obvious to me that certain things were misreported... Anyway, Joe from Mets Today states his case and does it well - and then someone in the comments section ties the story to Pete Rose and gambling. After 8 months of research and a quick Google search to cover my ass, I can safely say that this is just more rumor and innuendo. And it's unintentional - probably mixing up Backman with Lenny Dykstra's gambling issues. It really boggles the mind... Point is, this is a great article and you should read it.
