Random Update 1/8/07

Tuesday, January 8, 2008

Slow... editing day... ugh. Well, if things pick up, you can see it live on the Edit-Cam. If not, here's the latest random update, complete with monsters, juiced up jackasses, useful hints and Howard Hughes:

1.) Cloverfield stole my marketing idea - Well, not really. It's more accurate to say "Cloverfield is using a marketing concept that I decided to use six months ago and won't get around to using until March." The difference is that Cloverfield is backed by millions of dollars. My marketing is fueled by coffee, debt and stubborness. Oh, and it's funnier. Woot.

2.) Roger Clemens is Sedated - This video is just... just outstanding.

3.) How to Break Down a Script - This one is straight out of Filmmaking 101. Great info for anyone who is interested.

4.) Virtual Sets, Boston, etc. - An interesting article about creating virtual movie sets. I had no idea Technicolor started out in a Boston train car. Cool idea, looks like leaving Boston worked out better for them, than say, Roger Clemens.

5.) Blu-Ray vs. HD-DVD - File this under "Problems I'll be dealing with in July." The always kickass blog "HD for Indies" thinks Blu-Ray will be the way of the future. Way of the future. Way of the future. Whatever. I'm tired. Later.

Axl Rose, circa 1947.
